E-Summit at Kalyani Government Engineering college kicks off today

The Kalyani Government Engineering College annual Entrepreneurship Summit which is a 3-day event was officially kicked off today. The E-Summit is a 3-day long event which aims at fostering the growth of Startup ecosystem in West Bengal. According to KGEC, the primary aim of their E-Summit is to motivate and empower the youth for creation of opportunities.

The Summit includes guest speeches from founders and co-founders of various Startups who will share their experience and their thoughts with the participants of the Summit. Mr. Angshuman Bhattacharya – CEO, SIBIA Analytics, Mr. Arijit Bhattacharya –CEO, Virtual Infocom,  Mr. Vinay Menon and Miss Priyanka Bajaj from Mera Tiffin, Mr. Vikram Duggal from Unitus Seed Fund,  Mr. Ravi Ranjan from Nasscom 10K Startups and Mr. Saumen Datta, Project Manager (EDF), DIC Nadia, MSME, Govt. of India are some of the guest speakers among others.

Several events and workshops are also going to be organized over a period of three days. KARSHAN Smart City Hackathon will be organized with Mr. Prashanth Biswanatha – the CTO of Hackmania and a workshop will take place on Product Development and Pitching by MSME, Government of India.  A separate event focusing on the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and investors will be organized where the participant can choose either to be an entrepreneur or an investor. If the participant chooses to become an entrepreneur the participant needs to submit his ideas with a 2-3 minute video clip. Based on his presentation the crowd fund will be collected. If the participant registers as an investor, the participant will be given virtual money and he/she needs to place this money on the ideas presented and justify the reason.

The E-Summit has its Business Plan Competition Partners which are Unitus Seed Fund, Nasscom 10K Startups and Calcutta Angels.
At a time when the spirit of “Startup India” is soaring high, it becomes increasingly important to inculcate the culture of Startups in places where ideas flow the most. Undoubtedly, colleges are the hotbeds of ideas and organization of E-Summits can go a long way in realizing the goal of making India the Startup capital of the world.
