D’Ante Kareem Adkins, professionally known as Turn Up Tobi, is an American Music Producer and Professional Musician based in New Jersey.
D’Ante Kareem Adkins was born in Newark, New Jersey on December 9th, 2000. He grew up in church and started playing Piano at his church at the age of 12. His passion for music then began to grow and he started to learn as many instruments as he could. In 2018 he received his first laptop as a Christmas gift and then started to make beats and create music.
When it comes to Music, he firmly believes that it is one such art that can be improved tremendously through collaborations. And for that, he has a very unique process. He hunts for local artists on Instagram and asks them if they want to work with him. If they are ready, he makes a beat right infront of them in order to lure them into working with him again. Pretty innovative!
Music came naturally to him. His grandmother on his father’s side was a jazz singer, and his father is a writer and rapper. Once the artist inside him grew with age, he learnt new instruments. The next destination was music production and it wouldn’t be wrong to assert that he is ‘Killin it’.
Adkins earned his first placement on Leah Jenea’s 2020 Album Crooked Love Story, producing the tracks “Fed Up”, “Pulse”, “Melody”, “Lie There”, “The End”. He also produced “Lil momma” on TCO Breeze’s 2020 album RARE 2. He is also noted for his producer tag of his little sister Nye’La S Adkins saying , “TURN UP TOBI!”
He also believes that humanity never dies and you need to have a great team to succeed. In a short interview with Times of Startups, D’Ante Kareem Adkins said that he wants to make both his grandmothers proud through his works. Based on his recent tracks, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that he is on the right track!
