New Delhi: Putting together stories of twenty women entrepreneurs in their twenties who have carved a niche for themselves and their passion, Superwomen by Prachi Garg is a recent release by Srishti Publishers. It was unveiled on the occasion of Women’s Day, on 8 March 2016 at India Habitat Centre.

Three superwomen highlighted in the book became part of a panel discussion on entrepreneurship in women and obstacles they face in reaching heights, with the skilled moderation of active writer/ blogger Paromita Bardoloi.

The book primarily endorses the idea that entrepreneurship is inherent in women and describes how they have a tremendous capacity to take risks in everything in their life, and how all they need is just a trigger! Superwoman Charnita Arora – founder of Perfect Life Spot – shared how it’s most important to fight inner demons and negativities before facing the world head-on.

These young entrepreneurs have not just fought odds in terms of their start-ups, but also the society. Being at a crucial age where the ‘others’ expect you to either make a stable career, or get married and ‘settle down’, these superwomen have shown exemplary courage and fought all odds. Rashi Narag founded Heads Up For Tails owing to her love for pets, but it wasn’t just as easy to make space in a male-dominated domain. With a three-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old start-up, she is striving to maintain a healthy balance. According to her, it is only passion and love for your work – now made easier with the internet – that can take you forward.

Saumya Vardhan was the third superwoman in the panel discussion, and she highlighted how she had to undergo academic training in astrology, numerology and vastushastra (despite holding an MBA degree from a reputed college in London) to be able to head ShubhPuja effectively. In her words, women have been empowered in the past few years and it can continue only if they are treated as equals.
