Jesse Rowe’s project BTC18 will reward responsible citizens for expressing their right to vote

The 2018 midterm elections, featuring hundreds of congressional, state and local primaries, will soon culminate with the Nov. 6 general elections. In order to attract more citizens to participate in the voting process, Jesse Rowe launched a project BTC18 on October 6th.

BTC18 is a project aimed at improving the voter turnout in the upcoming midterm elections. In a statement, Jesse said that the main objective of the project was to drive voter registrations for the upcoming 2018 Midterm Elections. “With just 72 hours left before the common registration deadline, BTC18 was able to generate over 1,300 registrations by rewarding those who registered with free Bitcoin or Ethereum,” said Jesse.

Midterm elections usually generate lower voter turnout than presidential elections. While the latter have had turnouts of about 50–60% over the past 60 years, only about 40 percent of those eligible to vote actually go to the polls in midterm elections.

“BTC18 project drove American citizens from over 42 different states to complete the voter registration process along with educating them on who is running in their respective state, where their local voting booth is located and even provided ways for registrants to donate to candidates,” he added.

As for plans moving forward, Jesse says the project will be doing something special on November 6th to help people submit their ballots at the booth. “We wanted to create a last-push effort to get people to register to vote in this upcoming midterm election. More is on the line than ever before. Regardless of your political affiliation, it’s your right to vote.” he added.
