Different cultures, costumes, colors and cuisine enrich India immensely as a country. So do various religions and religious practices.

It wouldn’t be wrong to assert that India is a land of festivals. Be it Diwali, Christmas or Eid, we simply love our festivals. But behind all the fun and frolic during the festivals, there is a lot of hard work put in to make all the arrangements. The problem aggravates if both the husband and wife are office goers.

With an aim to helping you enjoy your religious festivals without worrying about the arrangement of ‘pooja smagri‘ or other related things, FestivalTime was launched  recently in Hyderabad by Sakthi Swaroop and Nagarjuna Yelisetty , both NIT Karnataka alumni.

According to Sakthi, FestivalTime is a “one-stop destination for all your festival needs“. It is an online marketplace which provides Customized Pooja kits and other items to be used in festivals to its customers. Based on customer’s need they provide handpicked  pooja samagri all over Hyderabad. Currently, the Startup is based in Hyderabad with plans to expanding to different cities very soon.

Sakthi Swaroop comes from a remote Village Madanapalle in Chitoor District . After completing his Bachelor in Engineering in Biotechnology, he joined NIT- Karnataka for his Masters. At NIT, he was part of the E-cell and was elected as president for the PG students.

After completing his studies, Sakthi moved to Hyderabad where he developed a chrome Extension “Ganesh”. To his surprise, the extension garnered huge attention and it was downloaded in large numbers during Ganesh chathurthi last year. This made him realise the potential of ‘festival’ market in India and ultimately led him to start his own venture Festivaltime.in.

Formerly a mobile application developer, Nagarjuna, who is also the co-founder of FestivalTime is currently the CTO of the company.

“Startup isn’t new to me and I learned many things from the Startup herody, which I launched during my college days. However in the case of FestivalTime, one of the main difficulties I faced was talking to the traders . Most of the traders are not tech savvy. Bringing them onboard and integrating them to the online market place was a bit difficult for me.” said Sakthi to Times of Startups

According to Sakthi, they have pitched their Idea at Progress  Incubation centre, Hyderabad, Spark accelerator and Askmentor.com solely for the purpose of mentorship and not funding. They are also part of Microsoft Biz spark and Google Startup launch.

The Startup is also planning to Expand its operations to Kolkata ver soon.
