Ruan, it’s never easy starting on your own. How did you begin your journey as an Entrepreneur?
I’ve always wanted to be my own boss. My journey actually came about by accident – I uploaded a video on YouTube and all of a sudden it started getting views. It was from that moment that I realized that people want to watch what I have to offer. People appreciate quality content. In just a years’ time, I managed to get over 34,000 subscribers, thanks to the first video which was received well by the viewers. The constant positive feedback from my subscribers kept me going.
You are considered a Digital Marketing and SEO expert. How exactly did you choose this field?
To be honest, at the beginning of my career, even I was pondering upon ideas and various Career options. Therefore, it was a challenge for me to decide what exactly I should do. After ideating as much as I could, and spending months studying popular and latest trends on YouTube and other similar mediums, I chose and stuck to one thing I was good at- SEO and Digital Marketing. Always remember, the man who chases two rabbits catches none. It’s always good to spend time deciding what you really want to do rather than getting into something and realizing your mistake when it’s too late.
To be honest, the number of experts in the field of Digital Marketing and SEO has increased substantially. How do you differentiate yourself from other professionals in this field?
Yes, with the advent and the increased popularity of Internet-based businesses, the number of professionals providing SEO and related services has increased substantially. However, as I said, on my YouTube Channel, I share content that I create out of true love for the topic. I give out the best SEO knowledge completely free on my channel. I love doing what I do and I wish to share it with as many people as I can. SEO Experts and Digital Marketing Gurus charge for the information which I share completely free on my Channel.
Since any work which is Internet-based, you can outsource it. What are your thoughts on outsourcing any digital work, especially when it is related to SEO?
Outsourcing has become a norm in modern-day business. Tech outsourcing has been there for quite a long period of time. However, before outsourcing any big project, always test the waters by outsourcing a micro project. Once you are sure about the quality of work, you can go ahead with a big project. This becomes more important when you are outsourcing for a client. Just make sure you’re outsourcing to someone who can do the work really well. This is why I only outsource to people who have a specific skill set.
For business owners who wish to grow their website traffic, do you provide any training other than your videos on YouTube?
Understanding the fact the YouTube Videos, howsoever beautifully they are created, cannot serve everyone’s purpose. Therefore, I do run a program “The Underground Secrets“, which provides sufficient training to grow website traffic online.
Finally, what singular tip would you like to give to our readers?
Over the last few years, what I have observed is that people come up with plans but they fail to even start with the plan they have in their minds. My number 1 recommendation would be to just get started. You’re going to fail and you have to accept your failure. Try, fail, and try again. Never in history has there been a better time where you can earn money online by using just your computer. There is no risk in starting so why not do it?
