Founded by Max Yang, Frosty Chainz was created to give individuals of all backgrounds and attributes the opportunity to wear luxurious handmade men’s accessories at reasonable prices.

We recently interviewed this young college graduate turned entrepreneur to understand more about his entrepreneurial journey.

Max, Thank you for talking with us. Kindly describe your journey as an Entrepreneur so far.

Thanks for having me. My journey as an entrepreneur so far has been a blessing. It hasn’t been a blessing just because of success but because of my failures too. The early failures taught me more knowledge than my success. It taught me not to search for success but to find out how not to fail. By doing so, I have become more knowledgeable in multiple skills and topics. These are things that I am forever grateful for everyday.

As a young college graduate, what were the initial challenges that you faced in your endeavor?

As a young college graduate the initial struggles were taking risks with not a lot of money. It is hard for people my age to take the risk and try to start something different because of the unknown consequences that may occur. I was able to start my own e-commerce business with the limitations I had by starting small.

How and when did you come up with the idea of Frosty Chain?

I’ll be honest I started frosty chainz because I wanted to test and refine my web design/SEO/e-commerce skills. I initially started it up as a test to see how the operations of running an e-commerce business was like.

I thought of men’s chains because of the current trend of young men wearing chains. It was something I noticed and wanted to provide them with more options. I also noticed a split in the men’s jewelry community. I wanted to create a brand where you do not need to feel that you had a luxury lifestyle or a hip hop lifestyle. There are many out there that do not fall into these categories but enjoy wearing jewelry.

Men’s Jewelry has never garnered as much attention as it should have been. What’s your view on this?

I believe that men’s jewelry will become more popular as pop culture influences our society more. In the past, most men did not wear any jewelry other than watches. Today, you see young men ages 18-25 wearing chains regularly. Society trends and norms change all the time. I for see the demand for it going up.

In terms of quality, how are Frosty Chain Jewelry items different from other similar products?

We pride ourselves in providing quality products to our customers. Our difference from others is that we are able to sell these chains at lower costs compared to our competitors. We do not want our customers paying $1000s for the same quality, nor pay $20 for a cheap quality piece at retail stores.

You are a strong believer of diversity which you try to implement in your products too. Why is diversity so important for you?

Diversity is so important to me because I believe we are off worse as a society and individuals if we stay uniform to everything. As a society we should embrace that we are unique but also understand and support that our peers are unique also.

By promoting this we can come put our skills & ideas together to make all of us better off. As an individual if you diversify your thoughts and skills you will become a more talented individual. Learning new things will only better your future.

How has Covid 19 impacted your business?

Unfortunately our product is luxury good and we have had less sales in the past. At the same time we are still striving to give back because lives are more important to us than sales. Our business is driven of of community support. We hope that everyone stays healthy and we can all get through this together.
