We recently interviewedAhmed Abdul Malik , Founder and CEO of Keltha to know more about his business and BPO services in general.

Ahmed, Thank You for talking to us. You had a stable job before you started on your own. How was your experience of leaving a cushy job in order to follow your dreams?

“Fool didn’t know it was impossible, so he did it”. This quote has motivated me from the last several years to take the steps I never thought of taking. I had a stable job with a lot of growth potential. I was good at it, but I didn’t like it. Then came the day I decided to resign and pursue what I wanted to do. It wasn’t easy having spent more than 4 years in KPMG which might be considered a dream job by many. I took a lot of risks and some of them might not be very calculated either, but in the end, my decision on that day and my consistency throughout definitely showed the results.

The BPO industry has a lot of competition. What were the initial challenges that you faced in your sector? Also, since there are many players in this sector, how do you differentiate yourself from others?

You are right, but then again which business doesn’t have a lot of competition? The world population is increasing, more and more people want their own businesses. Competition is not necessarily a bad thing. Where is the fun in fighting with yourself? You need an opponent. My stance from day one of building Keltha has been the same. I invest in employees and everyone treats each other as a family and this thing has really helped us a lot. Employees are always motivated and work wholeheartedly.

Keltha offers BPO services for various sectors including Healthcare, Real Estate, Telecommunication etc. As the CEO of Keltha, what difference do you observe in providing services in these various sectors?

Every sector is significantly different from the other. Take, for example, Healthcare and Real Estate. Operations are different, customers are very different. We train our employees in relation to each industry considering its core areas so they can alter each and every service according to the sector’s needs.

Any suggestions you would like to give to aspiring entrepreneurs who want to venture out on their own?

Be consistent. Business isn’t about luck. All it requires is your full attention and hard work.Read books, develop yourself each and every day. Fear is what motivates you. If you want to be an entrepreneur, then give it all you got. Don’t try to run it along with your job unless it is really necessary for your survival. Money isn’t everything, investing just your time can take you to places you have never imagined in your wildest dreams.

Any other projects you are running on the side?

Yes. I own a small NGO that focusses on stray animals (rescuing and finding shelters). It is still in the hatchling stage but planning to give it a significant time in 2019. Let’s hope for the best.
