Rapid7 will be acquiring Cloud Security Startup DivvyCloud for $145M in cash and stock.

According to an interview given to Techcrunch, CEO Corey Thomas said that even though the situation right now may not seem apt for making these decisions, he was comfortable with this decision.

“You have to actually think about everything that’s going on in the world. I think we’re in a fortunate position in that we have had the benefit of both growing in the past couple years but also getting the business more efficient,” Thomas said to Techcrunch.

Rapid7 believes that the acquisition is justified because their clients are increasingly moving towards cloud-based setups in their attempt at digitizing their operations all around the world.

Brian Johnson, CEO, and co-founder at DivvyCloud said that their services match exactly what Rapid7  clients need and therefore this is a perfect match.

When the deal closes, all the employees of this 7-year-old company will become a part of Rapid7.
