Healthcare Startup iKure to raise Rs 30 Cr in funding

Date:

iKure Technosoft, which is a West Bengal based rural healthcare Startup is all set to raise around Rs 30 crore from global investors in the next six months. Started in 2010, iKure’s mission is to deliver comprehensive primary healthcare in last mile communities.

iKure has already raised angels rounds from reputed high networth individuals  at Calcutta. It has so far raised close to Rs 2 crore in the last two years by offloading near 30% stake in the company.

iKure started its operations by setting up physical rural health centres (RHCs) equipped with full-time MBBS doctors, pharmacists and health officers. RHCs or spokes facilitated seamless consultation and escalations across urban specialists or hubs using iKure’s in-house technology called WHIMS.

Since 2010, the company has rapidly expanded and scaled up operations across five states in India namely Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, West Bengal and Karnataka with six Indian and international academic partners, hospital chain partners with over 250 branches and more than 20 private company partners.

Now, iKure has 28 RHCs across five states. To refine its healthcare delivery system, it has collaborated with University of Michigan and Deshpande Foundation. The collaboration is focused to reduce Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) by providing access to periodic monitoring and tracking of pregnant women and infants in villages. iKure model has appealed to the investors due to the impact created by providing access to healthcare at the grassroots level.
