Published

on

Ever thought of controlling your devices via mobile apps, facebook or twitter? Goa based Startup Inventrom has come up with a device Netplug which helps you control your devices via apps and via social media platforms such as facebook and twitter. The device uses IOT or Internet of Things as an enabler and helps you remotely control devices through your apps.

Inventrom

IOT is the network of physical objects or “things” embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity allowing these “things” to collect and share data among themselves. Netplug can help you switch LED lights on and off and also change the color based on you social media posts and mood as has been used by Daud electrical, which is a Panji based company. The extent of application of IOT devices is not limited to home appliances but can be tweaked and applied to a large number of areas. For example, it can be used in environmental monitoring. Specifically, water quality, atmospheric or soil conditions. It can also be used in infrastructure management, energy management and medical and healthcare systems.

Founded in 2012 by Pranav Pai Vernekar and Vinayak Joshi, currently, the focus of this Startup is on R&D and design with special attention given to user friendliness. Apart from working on their products, they have been engaged in training students and professionals across the globe. Essentially a B2B product, Netplug has gathered attention of many manufacturers of electrical and electronic devices like Mukunda Foods and SS electricals.

Apart from getting an opportunity to showcase their design at the India US Startup Konnect in the Silicon Valley in September, this Startup has won several awards . Notable ones are India Internet of things 2014 award and the award at Digital India Week, organized by the Government of India among others.

Though many observers still raise concerns over privacy, autonomy and control as far as the security issues with IOT is concerned, the future of IOT is definitely bright, especially with the digital revolution we are witnessing.

Café POS System

While serving good coffee and tasty pastries is essential, there’s much more to running a trendy café. To keep your café running smoothly, you’ll need to be proficient in various administrative and business skills.

Of course, you don’t have to do it alone or without assistance, so what better way to improve your café operations than with a cutting-edge café POS system?

With so many café POS systems on the market, each with its unique features, it can be challenging to decide which one is best suited for your cafe. So, in this article, we’ll focus on the essential features your café POS system should have to make running your café operations that much easier.

1. Order Management

Keeping track and following up on customer orders is essential to running a café. While writing down customer orders on paper is perfectly serviceable, it can lead to errors that can negatively impact customer satisfaction.

Having a café POS system with a dedicated order management system can significantly reduce potential ordering mistakes and help your front-of-house and kitchen staff better track customer orders, and streamline your café operations.

For added efficiency, look for café POS systems that integrate directly with self-ordering kiosks and kitchen display monitors. The former can help reduce wait times and ensure that all your orders are customer accurate, whereas the latter allows your kitchen staff to track orders from the POS system directly.

2. Kitchen Display Integration

A café POS with kitchen display integration can help to improve the accuracy and efficiency of your baristas and kitchen staff by displaying the necessary order information directly to them, acting as a central hub for all orders in your café.

Furthermore, a kitchen display system is constantly updated with the most recent information about a customer’s orders, so any additions or changes are reflected as soon as the customer requests them.

With a kitchen display system in place, your café can deliver more accurate orders, reduce potential waste, and reduce the possibility of employee and customer frustration due to miscommunication.

3. Clean & User-Friendly Interface

Given it’s intended to make your café operations more efficient, the last thing you need with your café POS system is to have your staff stumbling through a difficult-to-understand interface!

While a simple user interface may not contribute directly to better café operations, it enables new and current employees to quickly learn and operate the café POS system, which can help save time and additional costs for training.

A clean user interface will also help your staff provide better customer service by reducing the likelihood of minor errors during the billing and ordering processes. A user-friendly interface for POS systems that offer self-ordering or online ordering can make it much easier for your customers to place and pay for their orders.

4. Online Ordering

A robust café POS system with online ordering is an essential part of running a modern café, whether you want to diversify your revenue with an online order and delivery service or integrate online QR code menus to streamline the onsite ordering process.

Apart from improving revenue and efficiency, some of the other benefits of online ordering include:

  • Better profitability with cross-selling and promotions
  • Real-time online order tracking and updates
  • Faster service times
  • Better customer experiences
  • Customisable branding and online menu
  • The ability for customers to order from any device.

5. Delivery Partner Integrations

Save yourself the logistical troubles of running your delivery service by investing in a café POS system that offers direct delivery partner integrations that can run your deliveries for you!

With delivery partner integrations, you’ll not only be able to improve customer outreach by attracting customers loyal to their favourite delivery partners, but you’ll also ensure much higher order accuracy and lower wait times.

6. Detailed Reporting

Some café POS software can generate sales reports to help businesses track their performance and sales. These reports can assist café owners in identifying popular items and high revenue generators, which can help gauge demand for specific café items to ensure you have enough stock.

Having detailed performance and sales reports benefits any business, cafes included. By utilising a café POS system with a robust reporting feature, you can quickly assess the overall performance of your café business and make the necessary changes that can help to improve both efficiency and profitability based on your analytics.

7. Flexible Payment Options

A café POS system that supports flexible payment options can help to streamline the payment and billing process, improving customer turnover times and overall customer satisfaction. Allowing groups to split the bill and offering multiple payment options such as cash, cards, and digital wallets can only be a net positive for your customers!

8. Cloud-Based POS System

Whether you own a café chain with multiple locations or want to manage your café operations from the comfort of your home, a cloud-based café POS system can provide you with increased efficiency, ease of management, and convenience.

With a cloud POS, you can easily access real-time information and reports from any of your café outlets. Furthermore, storing your café POS data in the cloud as a backup ensures that you’re unlikely to suffer any accidental data loss.

9. Inventory Management & Tracking

Keeping track of your café inventory through traditional methods can be difficult, so having a café POS system that manages and tracks your list for you can be a critical feature when looking for a POS system.

With a dedicated inventory management system, you’ll be able to track and manage your inventory accurately, allowing you to be aware of when items and ingredients are running low, better optimise your stock purchases, and prevent your café from running out of certain items at critical times.

Positive Things About Your Hotel on Social Media

Social media has become an integral part of our lives in private and in business. What started as a way for friends and family to connect has turned into a powerful marketing tool for businesses of all sizes. And when it comes to hotels, social media can be used to great advantage in promoting your property and generating bookings. But to make the most of social media, you need to know how to use it effectively. Here are some promotional tips, such as those that a marketing agency for hotels might think about, to help you bring out the best in your hotel on social media.

Use high-quality images and videos

When it comes to promoting your hotel on social media, visuals are key. People are very visual creatures and will respond much more favorably to images and videos than to plain text. So make sure that the visuals you use are of the highest quality possible. This means using professional photos and videos that show your hotel in the best light possible.

Short videos can save you from typing so much textual content onto a website that might not be read anyway. A video can be engaging and draw the viewer’s eyes and ears into the hotel experience. It can show how spacious the restaurant and guest room spaces are. We want to portray wonderful architecture and added comforts. Perhaps show staff going about their business to get everything perfect for guests.

Interactive videos can go a step further and allow potential guests to choose which part of the hotel they want to see. Future guests can then take their specific journey and be in control, just like the captain of a cruise ship. You might want to view a room advertised as being the bridal suite or a family room. Also, see the kinds of dishes that the restaurant serves. You can see them piping hot with the steam rising from them when video technology makes this possible. It can be a mouth-watering experience just viewing a hotel video.

Write engaging and interesting content

The content you post on social media should be engaging and interesting enough to get people to stop and take notice. Nobody wants to read dull, boring content, so make sure that your posts are anything but. Write headlines that will grab attention and content that is informative and interesting.

Avoid long paragraphs and explanations and try to highlight the main points that make a hotel special. Think about room service, concierge services, and free wi-fi for business travelers, in particular.

Use social media to create a strong relationship with your guests

Your guests are the most important part of your business, so it only makes sense to use social media to build a strong relationship with them. Share information about your hotel that they will find useful, post updates on special events and promotions, and answer any questions they may have. By creating a strong relationship with your guests, you will turn them into lifelong loyal customers.

The key is to have guests return to the same hotel. Then you know that you have not just got some things right but achieved most to the level of perfection.

Keep your social media presence active and up-to-date

To keep people interested in your hotel, you need to keep your social media presence active and up-to-date. This means posting regularly and responding quickly to any comments or questions. If you let your social media accounts become stagnant, people will quickly lose interest and move on to someone else.

By following these promotional tips, you can make sure that your hotel has a strong and positive presence on social media. Use these tips to reach more people, build relationships with your guests, and generate more bookings for your venue.

How Restaurants Manage Inventory For Profitable Business

How Restaurants Manage Inventory

Every restaurant owner wants to make a profit. But what does it take to succeed? One way is by managing inventory for a profitable business. This means ensuring that you have inventory available for the customers who are ready to buy and also getting rid of surplus stock promptly when demand for an item falls so that you don’t tie up too much cash in your inventory. Many ways can help you manage your inventory to get the most out of your marketing efforts. So here are ways to help restaurants manage inventory for a profitable business.

Use An Inventory Control System

One of the best ways to manage inventory for a profitable business is to use an inventory-control system that helps you keep track of what items are available and where they can be found, both in your restaurant and storage. For example, you can use a PAR level system, a popular inventory management system. This system indicates the presently available usage of an item and a stock-out level. It also gives you an indication of when there will be no more inventory on hand. Additionally, some inventory control systems help you forecast inventory demand and only order when stocks are running low. This enables you to avoid tying up too much cash in your inventory if demand for an item slows down.

According to Synergy Suite, proper inventory management can assist your business by providing benefits such as:

  • Better food waste control. Helping your business throw away less is healthier for your business as well as the environment.
  • Creating a healthy inventory turnover rate. This helps keep your inventory fresh and ensures you don’t have an abundance of supplies you don’t need.
  • More streamlined and accurate inventory management. Know exactly how much of any given item you have at all times so you’re not spending unnecessarily.
  • Saving money on proper procurement. Getting to know how much of your resources are going toward any given item can greatly reduce the likelihood of overstocking.
  • Improved cash flow
  • Increased profitability

As you can see, proper inventory management can have a domino effect on several areas of your business. You could be wasting less, using more, and ensuring that your business is remaining profitable so you can focus more on your employees and customers.

Keep Track Of Stock-In And Stock-Out Levels

Another way to help restaurants manage inventory for a profitable business is to keep track of stock-in and stock-out levels, which indicate the amount of product available at any given time. You need to keep track of this because it helps you determine how much product is available for sale in your restaurant and how much is already on hand. Also, you can use this information to determine when you need to order new stock and when unwanted products will be removed from the store.

Prioritize Your Inventory Management

Another way to help restaurants manage inventory for a profitable business is by prioritizing inventory management. By focusing on new and more profitable products, you can boost sales. You can save considerable money by managing your inventory to keep it stocked in the best location possible. This is because you can minimize your sales markdown, cash-out, and waste by keeping your inventory in the most effective locations. Furthermore, you can use this information to determine which products are being sold out of stock the fastest. This will help you order more stock for these items and ensure that there is enough on hand at all times.

When your stock levels are mismanaged, it can be more difficult to explore alternatives to the products you have. Sometimes, restaurant owners find themselves stuck ordering the same set of products out of sheer convenience. The fear of running out of supplies while transitioning to replacement products can sometimes force businesses to keep ordering what they know is reliable. With a proper inventory management system in place, you can prepare for such transitions better. You can prepare your business by overstocking supplies during times of transition. This allows you to test new products in a constructive manner while ensuring the needs of the overall business is being met.

Sustain A Consistent Schedule

Any business that makes a profit has a consistent schedule that allows employees to work together and manage the restaurant inventory. This means that the employees have to work with each other. Employees in a restaurant usually have different schedules, so you need to cross-train them so that they can help each other deal with a busy restaurant.

You may also need to hire additional staff during busy times, or you may want to cut back on your staffing during the slow times of the year. Additionally, you can train your employees to take inventory, check on open orders, and check their accounts promptly to make sure that you don’t have too much or too little product on hand.

Some businesses find it helpful to enlist 3rd party services such as temporary workers for mundane tasks during busy times. You could quickly find more hands for your business this way without adding new employees to your payroll permanently. Areas you can enlist temporary workers include, busing tables, cleaning, secretarial scheduling, and offloading new products. Basically, use temporary workers for mundane tasks that don’t require much training. This gives you the chance to use your permanent employees for important areas of your business such as cooking and waiting on customers.

Appoint Someone To Track Inventory

Another helpful way to manage inventory for a profitable business is to appoint someone to track inventory. It’s important to have a centralized location so that it can go on the list at once when stock runs low. Using a point system will allow you to keep track of your inventory so that there isn’t too much or too little at any given time. This will help you keep from tying up too much cash in your inventory and keep your business running smoothly. Also, you can use this information to perform stock analyses to understand better the types of products that are doing well.

It’s important for businesses to track their inventory carefully to ensure there is always a sufficient amount on hand and they don’t tie up too much cash in their inventory. A point system, an inventory-control system, stock-out levels, and a consistent schedule can help you manage your inventory for a profitable restaurant business. Therefore, using these tips may have a better chance of having a profitable restaurant business.
